Case study
A large-scale asphalt resurfacing programme was delivered across 63 individual sites within North Yorkshire, covering Highway Maintenance Areas 1, 3 and 4. The works extended across the region from Malton to Scarborough, encompassing both rural and urban sections of the local highway network.
The project formed part of the ongoing maintenance and asset management programme delivered by North Yorkshire Council, aimed at restoring worn carriageways and improving road safety and longevity.

Across the 63 sites, the programme covered a combined surfacing area exceeding 100,000 m², making it one of the larger coordinated resurfacing programmes undertaken in the region within a single maintenance cycle.
The wide geographic spread required detailed planning to ensure efficient delivery while minimising disruption to local communities and road users.
The works included a mixture of:

North Yorkshire
The North Yorkshire multi-site resurfacing programme represents a successful example of large-scale highway maintenance delivered across a wide geographic area.
By resurfacing over 100,000 m² of carriageway across 63 sites, the project significantly improved road conditions across Areas 1, 3 and 4 between Malton and Scarborough.
Through careful planning, efficient resource deployment and modern asphalt surfacing techniques, the programme delivered durable improvements to the region’s road infrastructure while minimising disruption to the travelling public.
