KMA Plant.

At Matte Black Surfacing, we invest in advanced plant and technology to deliver efficient, sustainable, and high-quality surfacing solutions. A key part of this capability is our use of the Wirtgen KMA 240i cold mixing plant, a highly versatile mobile system designed for the production of cold-mixed asphalt and hydraulically bound materials.

What a Cold Mixing Plant is.
01

What a Cold Mixing Plant is.

A cold mixing plant produces asphalt and bound materials without the need for heating, unlike traditional hot-mix asphalt plants. Materials are mixed at ambient temperatures using reclaimed asphalt planings (RAP), aggregates, binders, cement, foamed bitumen, or emulsions, depending on the application.

This method significantly reduces energy consumption, carbon emissions, and material waste while still delivering strong, durable results.
